The Opportunity
Williams International has an exciting opportunity for an Engineer / CMM Programmer to join our team. The position will be responsible for launching precision aerospace components into production. This role will be responsible for understanding complex product engineering requirements and the processing required to meet those requirements.
Additionally the Engineer will be responsible for: Creation maintenance and operation of Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programs for part inspection. Specification and acquisition of inspection process related machinery software tooling and gaging Programming operation and troubleshooting of surface roughness inspection equipment optical/camera dimensional inspection comparator equipment and other non-destructive dimensional inspection devices. Data collection and analysis using Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods and software. Creation and execution of comprehensive manufacturing processes including process planning process documentation gaging strategies tooling solutions and work holding design Troubleshooting and deep diving issues related to manufacturing and inspection processes and manufacturing quality Working with production design & materials engineering and quality team members for safe and on-time part and product launches Ensuring adherence to internal and industry standard quality policies and gaging/inspection techniques for your assigned manufacturing cells Documenting maintaining reviewing and approving first piece/first article tool proof certification of conformance and similar records.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering.
Thorough understanding of detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
Advanced proficiency in the interpretation of GD&T requirements and inspection methodologies.
Experience using basic inspection equipment such as micrometers calipers optical comparators.
Experience creating process related work instruction documentation.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Intermediate to advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Office software tools.
An interest in gas turbine engine manufacturing.
U.S. citizenship is required.
Position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance if needed. Candidates selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
