Description
Our client is seeking a Controller to join its growing leadership team. This hands-on role will partner closely with ownership to oversee the companys accounting operations financial reporting payroll and internal controls while helping maintain accurate timely financial information. The ideal candidate has a strong construction accounting background enjoys working in a collaborative environment and is looking for an opportunity to growas the company continues to expand.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger accounts payable accounts receivable payroll and month-end close
- Prepare accurate monthly quarterly and annual financial statements and supporting analyses
- Manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with payroll regulations
- Maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies
- Prepare budgets forecasts cash flow reports and financial analyses
- Coordinate annual audits tax reporting and compliance activities
- Monitor financial performance and recommend process improvements
- Partner with ownership to support strategic business decisions and continued growth
- Support accounting system optimization and process improvements
- Mentor and develop accounting staff as the organization grows
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field required
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibilities
- Construction industry experience required
- Strong knowledge of GAAP financial reporting job costing and payroll
- Experience with construction accounting software; Spectrum experience preferred
- CPA preferred
- Strong analytical organizational and communication skills
