Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join a dynamic healthcare team in an acute care setting. This role involves delivering high-quality respiratory care with minimal supervision ensuring optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assess treat and monitor patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions
Administer oxygen therapy aerosol medications and other respiratory treatments
Operate and manage ventilators and life-support equipment
Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and interpret results
Respond promptly to emergency situations including code blue events
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as needed
Accurately document patient care in electronic medical records (EMR)
Ensure proper maintenance calibration and sanitation of respiratory equipment
Qualifications & Requirements
Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
Valid New York State Respiratory Therapist license
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (Associates or Bachelors degree)
Current BLS/CPR certification (required); ACLS preferred
Strong knowledge of ventilator management and critical care protocols
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced high-pressure healthcare environment
Prior experience in acute care ICU or emergency settings preferred
