Transportation Program Manager

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Providetransportationanalysiswithfocusonbusinessunit/supplychainrequirements
• Providerecommendationsonfreightcostsavingsandstreamliningopportunities
• Providequarterlyreportstobusinessunitsthatincludecostsavingsopportunitiesandresults
• Developandmaintainbillingsystemstoensureaccuracyofsupplierpayments/accountcoding
• Resolveshippingissuesandmakerecommendationsforprocessimprovements
• Creatingandrevisingstandardoperatingproceduresforlogisticsprocesses
• Trainingoffreightforwarders/carriers
• Creatingandtrackingtransportationprocessdocuments
• Conduct carrier RFP for domestic and international transportation
• Execute and enable carriers for domestic and international transportation
• Maintainingthelistofapprovedcarriersandtheroutingguide;trainingandenforcingtheuseoftheroutingguide
• Conductquarterlybusinessreviewswiththebusinessunitsandcarriers
• Preparationofshippingforecasts
• Reviewandnegotiatecarriercontractsincludingnegotiatingfreightrates
• Workingwithbusinessunitstomaximizetransportationsavingspotentialandprovidingquarterlystatusreports
• Guidingandadvisingdepartmentstooptimizelogistics performance
• Takingcorrectiveactionwithcarriersintheeventofservicefailures
• Manageone-timeratequotesandone-timeshipmentstosupportbusinessunits
• Monitor and develop transportation key performance indicators (KPIs).

Education & Experience

• Bachelorsdegreeintransportationlogisticsand/orsupplychain
• 7yearsofworkexperience managing transportation for a company the size of Coherent
• Experienceincarrierorotherrelatedthirdpartymanagement
• Experience with Oracle Transportation Management tool or other Transportation Management system.
• Experienceincontractualandnegotiationmanagement

Skills

• Projectmanagementskillsandexperience
• Proficiency inMSOfficeskills(ExcelPPTWordetc.)
• Knowledgeofcreatingprocessflowdiagrams(MicrosoftVisio)
• KnowledgeofdatabasesandPowerBIisanadvantage
