Summary:

The Training Manager is responsible for leading the agencys learning and development function by overseeing employee training staff development onboarding compliance training and trauma informed workforce initiatives. This position develops and implements training strategies that support organizational goals regulatory compliance employee engagement and quality service delivery.


The Training Manager provides leadership and supervision to the training staff manages training systems and processes and partners with agency leaders to ensure employees have the knowledge skills and resources needed to succeed in their roles.

Requirements

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership coaching supervision and performance management to training staff.
  • Develop and implement an agency wide training and development strategy aligned with agency goals and workforce needs.
  • Oversees new hire orientation onboarding mandatory training leadership development and ongoing staff training programs.
  • Ensures compliance with federal state licensing accreditation ORR and contract training requirements.
  • Monitors and maintains training records certifications compliance reports and learning management systems.
  • Lead the evaluation and continuous improvement of training programs through data analysis participant feedback and performance outcomes.
  • Manage training schedules resources budgets vendors and training partnerships.
  • Partners with Human Resources and program leadership to identify training needs and support employee development initiatives.
  • Oversee implementation of trauma-informed care frameworks including Sanctuary Model initiatives trauma-informed certifications and staff education efforts.
  • Advances the agencys trauma-informed culture through training coaching and workforce development practices.
  • Provides leadership in trauma-informed training approaches and ensures integration across all training initiatives.
  • Collaborates with Human Resources on matters concerning recruitment hiring/verification training and supervision.
  • Ensures adequate staffing scheduling and coverage for all training events and activities.
  • Supports agency audits and ensures training documentation remains accurate and audit ready.
  • Develop training metrics and provide leadership with regular reports on compliance participation and program effectiveness.
  • Foster a learning culture that promotes employee engagement professional growth accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Must ensure the completion of all required professional development assignments in a timely manner for their direct reports.

  • Must be sensitive to the service populations cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
  • Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self others.
  • Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information services rendered to clients donors names and gifts internal and external investigations or results of any investigations and financial information.
  • Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral is mandatory.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education
    • Bachelors degree in Education Social Services Human Resources Organizational Development Business Administration or related field required.
    • Masters degree preferred
  • Experience
    • 5 or more years of progressively responsible experience in training learning and development staff development or organizational development.
    • 3 or more years of supervisory or management experience.
    • Experience designing facilitating and evaluating training programs.
    • Experience administering a Learning Management System (LMS) preferred.
    • Experience in nonprofit behavioral health child welfare education or human services environments preferred.
  • Certifications
    • Trauma-informed care certification preferred
    • CPR/First Aid instructor certifications preferred
    • Sanctuary Model EQ2 or similar trauma-informed framework experience preferred.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong leadership coaching and employee development skills.
  • Excellent organizational project management and communication abilities.
  • Experience developing implementing and evaluating training programs.
  • Effective presentation facilitation and public speaking skills.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and workforce development practices.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Knowledge of compliance-related training requirements and documentation standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other training technology platforms.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) training records and reporting (Relias experience preferred).
  • Ability to analyze training data identity trends and recommend improvements.
  • Strong problem-solving collaboration customer service and conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles including Sanctuary Model or similar frameworks preferred.
  • Familiarity with training topics relevant to human services organizations including trauma-informed care child development ethics professional boundaries mandated reporting HIPAA OSHA employee wellness and crisis prevention practices.

Travel Requirements:

  • Local travel is required as needed to support training delivery employee onboarding meetings and other agency-related activities across organizational locations and community partner sites. Occasional overnight travel may be required for approved conferences certification programs leadership development opportunities and other agency related purposes. Employees must maintain reliable transportation a valid drivers license and current vehicle insurance in accordance with agency requirements.
