Job Summary:
The Test Engineer P&C 1 is responsible for commissioning testing and troubleshooting substation integration and SCADA equipment within the Protection & Control Field Services Substation Integration & Automation group. This role involves planning and executing projects safely efficiently and accurately primarily working on-site and in the field. The position requires 0-5 years of related experience and a bachelors degree in engineering.
Responsibilities:- Commission and test substation integration and SCADA equipment.
- Troubleshoot substation systems and equipment issues.
- Plan and complete projects safely efficiently and on schedule.
- Perform power system calculations and measurements.
- Work primarily on-site and in the field.
- Accredited bachelors degree in engineering.
- Experience or training in commissioning and testing substation SCADA equipment.
- Knowledge of safe work practices in substation or industrial environments.
- Ability to use electrical testing tools such as multimeters and hand tools.
- Basic understanding of AC & DC electrical systems.
- Experience or training in microprocessor (IED) technology.
- Experience with serial and ethernet network communications.
- Knowledge of substation relay protection and control equipment.
- Familiarity with industrial control systems including PLCs and generation plant controls.
- Proficiency in computer productivity tools such as spreadsheets.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Work is primarily on-site and in field environments.
- Must adhere to strict safety protocols in substation and industrial settings.
