Temporary Career Development Intern

The Gordon Career Center works with students of all class years to translate their liberal education into a lifetime of meaningful work. Its innovative approach to career education encourages students to design their own careers by exploring the intersection between their interests the skills they have and wish toacquire and market demand. The Center links students to alumni employers and graduate programs around the globe in fields that reflect the impressive breadth of opportunities explored by Wesleyan graduates.

Reporting to the Associate Director for Career Advising (Arts & Humanities) the Career Development Intern works closely with Gordon CareerCenteradvisingstaff. The intern will work up to20 hours/weekbetweenJuly-December 2026 with start and end dates as well as weekly hours to bedeterminedwith the successful candidate. This position is not eligible foreither benefits orstudent loan deferment.

Responsibilities include:

• Review resumes and other job search materials submitted by students on our recruiting system Handshake.

• Advise students in appointments to answer basic questions about their job and internship search process.

• Support the Associate Director for Career Advising as needed.

• Provide general administrative support including for career-related programs sponsored by the Career Center.

• Other duties as assigned.

This position is an on-campus position with potential for remote or a hybrid (on campus and remote) schedule in the future. All positions may require on campus meetings.

Remote work is only considered for residents of MA VT NH ME CT RI or NY.

Minimum Qualifications

Enrollmentin or completion ofa masters degree program in counseling higher education or a related field.

Demonstrated interest in career counseling.

Preferred Qualifications

Liberal arts bachelors degree.

Experience working in a liberal arts environment.

Excellentcommunicationsskills.

Demonstrated commitment to working in a diverse and inclusive environment.

Demonstratedorganizational and time management skills.

Ability to learnnew technologyplatforms quickly.
