Sr. Control System EngineerSite Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Role Overview
We are looking for a Sr. Control System Engineer/Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to integrateandmaintainthehardwareand softwaresystemsthatenableQuErasquantum controlsand softwarestack.Youllwork closely with software engineers physicistshardwareandtestengineersto install upgrademaintaintestand troubleshoot multiple hardware and softwarecontrol systemsforour Quantum Computers. This role isafoundationalsystems engineering roleto ensurethe reliabilitystability andoperational functionalityof both our development and production environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Implementmaintainand test software and hardware in aheterogeneous systemthat controlsdisparate computer systemdevices.

• Define document implement and test procedures for QuEras Quantum computer operations.

• Managesciencedevelopmentand testing infrastructure including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) setups containerized services(K8S)routers switchesand test systems.

• Propose and/or implementautomatedprovisioning configuration and orchestration of local and remotecomputesystemsused incontrollingandtesting simulations.

• Collaborate with software and test engineering teams to ensure smooth integration/deploymentof DevOps tools with custom hardware and quantum-specific workflows.

• Maintain artifact repositories testresultdashboards and infrastructure for tracking regressions and system health.

• Establish and enforce best practices for access control system configurationand lab operations.

• Support incident response troubleshooting and root cause analysis for CI/CD failures or system anomalies.

• Implement automation for monitoring andalerting forsystems and servicesintegrating logs and metrics from embedded systems test benches and orchestration layers.

• Work with CI/CD pipelines for building testing and deploying software and firmware across the quantum control stack.

Required Qualifications

• Practical implementation of LANand WANtechnologieson switches and routers(to include but not be limited toVLANconfiguration DNS DHCP andTCP/IPbased services)

• PracticalLinux (Ubuntu DebianRedhat) and WindowsAdministration experience to include but not be limited to network operations and application installation and debugging

• Proficiencyin scripting languages such as Python Bash or Go and familiarity with tools like Docker Git and Kubernetes.

• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. GitLab CI Jenkins) and infrastructure-as-code platforms (e.g. Ansible Terraform or similar).

• Familiarity with observability tools (e.g. Grafana Prometheus ELK stack) and logging systems for real-time data monitoring.

• Hands on experience with rack mount servers

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field or equivalent practical experience.

• 10years of experience ina NetworkSQA Systems Engineering SRE or infrastructure engineering roles.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting hybrid systems involving embedded devices custom hardware or real-time control systems.

• Knowledge of secure software deploymentand Product life cycles.

• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop pipelines or distributed lab/test automation environments.

• Exposuretoscientific computing HPC or quantum software stacks is a plus.

• Ability to thrive in fast-moving interdisciplinary R&D teams.

Salary range is $160000-$225000. We consistently monitor external market data and update base salary ranges accordingly. We determine base compensation decisions on several factors including as geographic placement role-specific knowledge skills and/or addition to our base salary offerings we also provide equity grants for all new hires.
