Job Summary

Developer Engagement creates user experiences and services to enable Apples engineers to craft high-quality products. We are responsible for internal tools and supporting technologies that are critical parts of the Software Engineering workflow. We are seeking engineers passionate about delivering exceptional developer experiences and shaping how we build and test software at scale in support of macOS iOS watchOS tvOS Xcode and more.

The Developer Engagement team is seeking a skilled engineer to contribute to the future of our internal systems tooling and developer adoption efforts. You will join a small but ambitious team responsible for supporting a large-scale functional build and test system iterating closely with internal software engineering teams to take Apples own software to the next role offers an exciting blend of hands-on engineering work and meaningful collaboration with internal developer teams. Youll have the opportunity to build innovative tools automations and integrations while actively engaging with developers to enhance their experience. Your efforts will play a crucial role in driving the adoption of new capabilities and gathering valuable feedback that influences product direction. Youll empower developers by helping them find the tools that meet their needs guiding them through the adoption process and ensuring a seamless feedback loop between users and engineering ideal candidate combines strong engineering fundamentals with a passion for developer experience exceptional communication skills and the curiosity to leverage AI to continuously improve workflows both your own and those of the developers you support.

Triage and troubleshoot issues across CI and distributed systems providing clear technical direction and solutionsnDesign and build automation and tooling that meaningfully improves efficiency and experience for both our team and end usersnDrive adoption engineering efforts including onboarding teams creating enablement materials and reducing friction for developers adopting new toolsnInstrument observability of support workflows analyze metrics and drive continuous process improvementnCreate and maintain self-service resources including FAQs how-to guides and technical documentationnCraft concise and effective communications around maintenance incidents and new featuresnMaintain high-quality product feedback by ensuring bug reports and user insights are actionable by engineering teams

4 years industry experiencenBachelors degree in computer science or equivalent experiencenExcellent customer collaboration and communication skills including experience working across technical and non-technical stakeholdersnProficient in modern scripting or compiled languages (Python Swift C/C etc.)nFamiliar with continuous integration software testing and build methodologiesnDesigning and using web service APIsnAutomation development experience in high-scale operating environmentsnComfortable using AI-assisted tools and workflows as a core part of day-to-day engineering worknOn-call availability when needed

Experience incorporating AI/ML capabilities or LLM-based workflows into developer-facing tools or processesnAbility to refine user requirements and prototype new solutions from scratchnExperience driving adoption of developer tools or platforms across engineering organizationsnmacOS iOS or UNIX development experiencenAbility to maintain composure and customer-service focus in high-pressure situationsnFlexibility and adaptability to thrive in a dynamic fast-moving environment
