Job Title: Senior IBM Master Data Management (MDM) & Integration Developer
Location: Lansing MI (Hybrid)
Duration: 12 months Contract with possibility of extension
Key Highlights:
Position Type: 100% Support and Maintenance
Interview Process: Virtual. Mostly a technical interview with the hiring manager and other team members followed by a brief soft skills discussion. Expected to be one round but additional rounds may be conducted if needed.
Work Schedule: Hybrid. Mondays and Tuesdays are mandatory on-site days (non-negotiable). Candidates must meet this requirement from the start.
Location Requirement: Open to local candidates or those willing to relocate to Lansing. Candidates must be able to relocate from Day 1 without delays (non-negotiable).
Position Description:
The position is responsible for providing ongoing maintenance and support for the Master Person Index (MPI) Michigan Index Data Stewardship Portal (MIDSP) and Symmetry applications supported within our department. These applications are part of the Technology and Database area.
The resource is integral to supporting and improving MDHHS automated processes streamlining critical business processes ensuring data integrity maintaining SEM/SUITE compliance and securing the applications.
As a lead the resource participates in a variety of assignments that provide enhancement integration maintenance and implementation of projects. The resource also provides application oversight to business analysts and other teams integrating with the Master Person Index.
Not having a resource on staff will delay ongoing and future project work within the area and lead to DTMBs inability to deliver prioritized enhancements and maintenance from MPI to major applications such as Bridges MiIntegrate and HESB within MDHHS.
Work closely with Database Administrators to develop and execute SQL scripts.
Create monthly reports for MDM applications.
Work with clients for task and ticket resolution in MPI and MIDSP.
Create and deploy certificates on Windows and Linux systems.
Work closely with Infrastructure teams including the Server team (Linux and Windows) and the Network team for maintenance and issue resolution.
Execute the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including gathering requirements and writing functional and technical specifications for complex projects.
Develop prototypes and mockups for user review and approval.
Create flowcharts screen layouts and documentation to ensure the logical flow of system requirements.
Assist with Enterprise Architecture Solution Assessment (EASA) hosting documents and firewall rules.
Design develop and implement test plans and test reports for applications or subsystems.
Create or collect test data and execute approved tests to determine the accuracy of program logic and produce desired results.
Assist with UAT testing test cases and post-implementation testing.
Provide defect and incident tracking information.
Assist with the implementation of Requests for Change (RFCs) including application and infrastructure changes.
Maintain and update system documentation following system upgrades.
Monitor applications in both production and non-production environments.
Provide application support for business client applications maintained by DTMB.
Deliver products and services based on the core concepts of software development.
Required Skills:
8 years of software development experience supporting enterprise-scale systems.
Strong hands-on experience with IBM InfoSphere MDM v14.x Standard Edition (Virtual MDM) including MDM data models entities transactions batch processing configuration customization and troubleshooting.
Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka.
Desired Skills:
Strong understanding of MDM concepts and IBM MDM product capabilities with the ability to understand maintain and enhance an existing MDM Standard Edition implementation built by a third-party vendor.
8 years of Java/J2EE experience including Java JSP and REST/SOAP-based services with strong production troubleshooting skills.
5 years of experience working with Linux/Unix operating systems including command-line usage log analysis and system-level troubleshooting.
Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka including topic creation and configuration producer and consumer development message flow troubleshooting and understanding of ZooKeeper and Kafka KRaft concepts using the Strimzi Operator.
Experience with batch processing using WildFly and Kafka.
Experience working with application servers such as WildFly including application deployment startup configuration health checks and runtime issue resolution.
Experience integrating Kafka with WildFly-based applications and IBM MDM Standard Edition.
Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries in Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server environments.
Strong Linux/Unix shell scripting skills (Bash) including automation and operational scripting.
Experience creating scheduling and maintaining CRON jobs for batch and scheduled processes.
Experience in Flowable development is a strong plus.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps Azure Git Repos or similar tools.
Experience deploying and supporting applications in cloud and OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) environments.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Azure.
Exposure to OpenShift and Kubernetes is a strong plus.
Experience with ELK/Elastic Stack for log monitoring and troubleshooting including correlating logs across Kafka WildFly and MDM.
Experience working with data and supporting mission-critical production systems.
Ability to independently own maintain and support complex systems with minimal external dependency.
