Position Overview We are seeking a Reliability & Manufacturing Engineer to support critical facility and manufacturing operations through utility systems engineering reliability initiatives spare parts optimization and root cause analysis. This role is responsible for improving equipment reliability minimizing downtime and supporting safe and efficient plant operations in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
Utility Systems Engineering
Support operation maintenance and optimization of plant utility systems including boilers chillers cooling towers compressors HVAC water treatment systems and distribution networks
Develop and maintain SOPs preventive maintenance strategies and asset care standards
Troubleshoot utility equipment failures and provide technical guidance to maintenance teams
Monitor system performance efficiency and regulatory compliance
Support equipment installation commissioning and qualification activities
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability maintenance and operational performance
Spare Parts & Inventory Management
Identify and manage critical spare parts inventory for utility systems and production equipment
Optimize inventory levels while balancing cost lead times and equipment availability
Coordinate with purchasing teams on vendor qualification pricing and long-lead materials
Support development and maintenance of BOM libraries within the CMMS
Assist with inventory accuracy initiatives and storeroom organization efforts
Root Cause Analysis & Reliability Improvement
Lead root cause investigations for equipment failures utility outages and recurring operational issues
Utilize structured RCA methodologies including 5-Whys Fishbone FMEA and Fault Tree Analysis
Develop corrective actions and long-term reliability improvements
Track reliability metrics including MTBF MTTR and related KPIs
Partner cross-functionally to implement and validate corrective actions
Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with OSHA EPA and applicable regulatory standards
Support risk assessments LOTO procedures and engineering safety reviews
Promote safe work practices and reliability-focused culture
Assist with permit coordination and compliance activities
Qualifications
Education
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Electrical Chemical Industrial Engineering or related field preferred
Experience
37 years of experience in utilities maintenance engineering manufacturing engineering or plant reliability
Experience working with CMMS platforms such as SAP Maximo eMaint or Fiix
Background in manufacturing semiconductor pharmaceutical or industrial environments preferred
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical utility systems
Knowledge of reliability engineering principles and RCA methodologies
Experience with spare parts management BOM structures and inventory optimization
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs schematics and technical drawings
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel Power BI Teams Word and PowerPoint
Strong project coordination organizational and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and support large-scale projects
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Valid drivers license required
Ability to support non-standard schedules or weekend work as needed
Comfortable using computers tablets and mobile devices in a field environment
