Scope:

The Product Engineering Supervisor oversees all day-to-day tasks related to the New Product Introduction (NPI) life cycle including but not limited to: initial design/concept review working with customer on change requests oversight of all initial production runs finalizing product specifications prior to full production post-mortem activities and daily support of Product Engineers. The Product Engineering Supervisor will report to the Product Engineering Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Recommends changes to designs in order to maximize yields

• Organizes all product development projects and tasks

• Provides leadership direction to daily workforce functions

• Ensures engineers on team have resources to complete assigned tasks

• Prioritizes work to ensure engineering resources are used to produce the highest return on investment

• Makes recommendations to engineering manager concerning all aspects of the manufacturing process

• Works with operations teams to ensure all needs are met

• Follows all safety measures when handling chemicals and hazardous waste with regard to use mixing and disposing chemicals

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

• Thoroughly familiar with all processes as they apply to the printed circuit board industry

• Working knowledge of process improvement methodologies to include SPC Root Cause Analysis Design of Experiments and Problem Solving techniques

• Must have excellent interpersonal skills to work with people at all levels of the organization

• Knowledge and application of statistical techniques for process control

• Knowledge and application of failure mode effect analysis techniques as applied to both process development and process improvement

• Ability to read write and communicate in English to the degree necessary to perform the job

Education and Experience:

Education

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related science required or equivalent experience.

Experience

• 3-5 yrs experience in engineering processes in printed circuit board technology.

• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
