We are seeking experienced Press Operators for a contract-to-hire opportunity in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for setting up and operating stamping presses including line dies and transfer dies while supporting production goals quality standards safety procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have prior press or feeder operation experience attention to detail and the ability to work in a production environment with repetitive tasks standing lifting and overtime as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate stamping press equipment including press transfers feeders and related machinery
Assist with die set up changeovers and production preparation
Operate presses in production mode to meet daily production goals
Visually inspect parts to ensure proper quality standards are met
Notify Production Quality Lead or Supervisor of any quality or press-related concerns
Perform quality checks and use checking fixtures to maintain part accuracy
Complete required part container tags lot identification operation information and SAP labeling
Maintain clean organized and safe work areas while following 5S standards
Complete daily production reports downtime boards and required production paperwork
Support wastewater handling duties after completion of proper environmental training
Participate in Lean Manufacturing practices and waste elimination initiatives
Support company goals safety requirements and production objectives
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 months of press and feeder operation knowledge preferred
Previous manufacturing experience preferred
Automotive manufacturing experience preferred
Experience working in a fast-paced production environment
Ability to operate machinery control panels computers and productivity equipment
Working knowledge of IATF16949 ISO 14001 and Q1 compliance standards preferred
Ability to perform quality checks and follow production procedures
Ability to work independently and as part of a production team
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently
Ability to bend stoop reach and perform repetitive motion tasks
Excellent manual dexterity
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with continuous noise exposure
Must be able to work overtime as needed
