Press Operator IGannett Publishing ServicesGainesville FLWE ARE OFFERING $16.48 PER HOURThe Press Operator position is responsible for running a Goss Headliner press. Duties include setting black and colored ink registration maintenance change rollers/blanketsfeed web through press units operate folder control pages/web alignments loading and making pasters and preparing production Responsibilities:Operating machinery in the press department includingreel stands press units folder plateroom equipment clamp truck andpress controlPerforming work to provide high-quality productsVerify press layouts for reel stand setupLoad reel stands with proper newsprint requirementsMake proper paster patterns for various newsprintwidthsThread paper through press (requires climbingbalancing stooping and reaching)Fill out production paperworkSpot plates for various press layoutsClean plate cylinder and install press plates in properpositionsInspect papers visually during press runs for correctcolor registrationMonitor and maintain proper ink and water balanceduring press and adjust blankets and rollers as neededMonitor printed products for proper folder cutoffs andmargin controlsPerform all ongoing maintenance activities: greasefolder form rollers press drives andRTPs top off oil levels in units folder gearboxslitter drives and motor gear boxesInsure quality on time products are produced dailyMeet all deadlines and goals as set forth by themanager press foreman and supervisor/PICMinimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
