Scope:

A Material Handler/Driver operates a truck to deliver and pick up cargo within a local area serving our processes within our four manufacturing buildings.

2nd shift schedule 3PM -11:30 PM Mon - Fri.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Observes speed limits and obeys all road signs while making on-time delivery schedules

• Records travel and vehicle maintenance information in logs

• Operates equipment to unload or load vehicle

• Performs simple vehicle maintenance (i.e. cleaning interior and exterior taking vehicle for state inspections filling tires with air etc)

• Verify cargo is secure and loaded properly

• Inspect brakes windshield wipers and lights to confirm proper working condition

• Inspect fire extinguisher flares and other safety equipment on truck are in working order

• Interacts with customers and vendors to obtain signatures and gives receipt of goods

• Assist shipping department with packaging

• Complete all internal departmental documentation accurately

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

• Ability to read write and communicate in English to the degree necessary to perform the job

• Able to use automatic routing or location software

• Knowledge of local area and able to read and use maps

• Hold a valid state-issued drivers license

• Good DMV driving record

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Education and Experience:

Education:

• High school diploma or GED.

Required Experience:

• No experience required. We can train candidates with the essential knowledge and skills.

Preferred Experience:

• Two years experience as a delivery driver in a manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.
