As a Cryogenic Fluids Design Engineer you will directly contribute to building a road to space by developing the ground systems for New Glenn our orbital launch vehicle designed for heavy-lift missions. This role is essential to the development and operation of the launch sites that will support this highly capable next-generation vehicle.

You will own the lifecycle of cryogenic fluid systemsfrom initial concept and analysis through to fabrication commissioning and operational support. This position requires deep technical expertise in fluid system design a commitment to safety and a passion for advancing the future of space exploration. Responsibilities:

• Design analyze and test cryogenic fluid systems to include storage conveyance and control.
• Develop and validate models of fluid systems using relevant software tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cryogenic fluid systems into aerospace vehicles.
• Prepare technical documentation and present findings to stakeholders.
• Ensure designs comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical input for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• Four-year aerospace or mechanical engineering degree (or similar discipline)
• 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Experience with Solid modelling or plant modelling piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and configuration control of engineering and documentation.
• Experience understanding fabrication and installation drawings
• Knowledge of standard components installation and fabrication methods of piping systems (pipe stock fittings connections valves fasteners structural members fittings welding etc.)
• Proficient with fluid dynamics thermodynamics and heat transfer principles.
• Proven expertise in utilizing AFT Fathom and Arrow or similar tools for advanced analysis and design of Fluid systems.
• Proficient in Thermal Desktop for complex thermofluid analysis. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.

Desired:

• Hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting mechanical and/or piping systems.
• Experience with creating process hazards analyses job hazards analysis and formal risk evaluation.
• Knowledge of ASME B31.3
• Experience with design and operation of typical aerospace cryogenic fuels and oxidizers
• Experience with design operations and maintenance of cryogenic systems
• Knowledge of precision cleaning processes / levels and passivation of stainless steel
• Knowledge of marine environment corrosion mitigation (material and coatings selection)
• Familiarity with test equipment such as multimeters dew point meters vacuum equipment regulator panels.
