What Youll Do
As the Data Center Facilities Engineer you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our data center infrastructure ensuring its efficiency reliability and security. This role ensures maximum uptime environmental stability and physical security of critical hardware power distribution units (PDUs) and cooling systems. The ideal candidate will combine hands-on hardware expertise with a strong understanding of power/cooling dynamics and automation.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Monitoring: Continuously monitor power grid stability Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems backup generators and Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC/CRAH) systems to prevent downtime.
Cabling & Organization: Plan and execute structured cabling paths (fiber and copper) utilizing industry-standard cable management practices. Ensure clean labeled and documented cable runs.
Capacity Planning: Analyze and forecast space power and cooling requirements (thermal dynamics) to support future hardware deployments and scaling.
Incident Response & Troubleshooting: Respond quickly to environmental alerts that cause outages. Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to address critical facility emergencies.
Documentation & Asset Management: Maintain highly accurate records of hardware inventory rack elevations and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors contractors and utility providers for facility maintenance support.
Security & Compliance: Enforce physical security policies access controls and compliance standards within the data center facility.
Minimum Job Requirements
Bachelors degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience. Normally requires a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience with typical engineering/science/information technology experience ranging from 6 to 10 years.
OR Masters degree in engineering/science discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
OR Applicants without a bachelors degree may be considered based on a combination of at least 12 years of completed education and/or relevant experience

Technical Proficiency:
Strong working knowledge of data center infrastructure power distribution and cooling systems
Expertise with fiber optic (singlemode multimode MPO) and copper (Cat6/6A) standards termination testing and cleaning.
Proficiency with Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools specificallydcTrack to monitor power space and cooling metrics
Deep understanding of high-density power distribution (AC/DC single-phase three-phase power)
Solid grasp of HVAC liquid cooling and hot/cold aisle containment principles
Experience with Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) platforms (e.g. ServiceNow) for managing work orders and incidents
Certifications such as Certified Data Center Professional (CDCP) or Certified Data Center Specialist (CDCS) would be a plus
