Job Summary

Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior cloud architects with the design and deployment of cloud solutions across the State of Michigan AWS and GCP environments.
  • Support the build-out of multi-cloud environments including public private and hybrid cloud models.
  • Help maintain and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure components.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Assist with infrastructure provisioning and configuration using automation tools.
  • Participate in integrating cloud pipelines with existing DevOps systems.
  • Document architecture decisions pipeline configurations and deployment procedures.
  • Participate in knowledge transfer sessions and training activities.
  • Maintain clear and organized technical documentation for onboarding and future reference.
  • Support adherence to cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks (NIST CIS PCI etc.).
  • Assist in implementing secure configurations and monitoring controls.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into cloud requirements.
  • Participate in discussions with vendors product specialists and internal teams to evaluate technologies.
  • Support enterprise architecture reviews and solution assessments.
  • Assist with performance analysis troubleshooting and optimization of cloud workloads.
  • Help design and test workload migrations and disaster recovery scenarios.
  • Support integration of cloud services with on-premises technologies (VMware Cisco Dell Nutanix etc.).
  • Leverage State of Michigan Institutional knowledge to cloud engineering projects.

Mandatory Skills:

  1. Cloud Delivery Analyst / Business Analyst - 1-3 years
  2. Knowledge of concepts of designing and developing dynamic Cloud solutions in Google Cloud Platform and Amazon Web Services and moving parts involved in continuous integration and delivery - 1-3 years
  3. Solid understanding and skill with DevOps web services and application programming interfaces (APIs) - Solid understanding and skill with DevOps web services and application programming interfaces (APIs) - 1-3 years
  4. Foundational institutional knowledge of State of Michigan platforms cloud architecture security requirements and processes - 1-3 years
  5. Ability to learn and apply cloud engineering concepts quickly.
  6. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  7. Ability to interpret technical requirements and assist in developing cloud-based solutions.
  8. Interest in automation DevOps and continuous improvement.
  9. Clear communication skills for explaining technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  10. Collaborative mindset and willingness to work across teams.

Desirable Skills:

  1. Bachelors degree
  2. Experience with Tooling and Automation to enable seamless automation of infrastructure provisioning and configuration.
  3. Pipeline Design and Architecture to improve development flow and delivery.
  4. Create maintain and troubleshooting skills for cloud infrastructure
  5. Cloud security and compliance experience
  6. Certification(s): Google Cloud Certified Cloud Digital Leader and/or AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
  7. Containerization Linux Database skills security and recovery web services and applications programming interfaces (APIs)
