Duty Days: 220 days per year
Primary Purpose:
Facilitates the management of student Chromebooks including assigning new student Chromebooks handling withdrawals managing loaners running reports in HEAT and Absolute securing missing Chromebooks in Absolute and facilitating student repairs. The position with work closely with the Zone Support Supervisor HS Support Specialist Librarian and campus staff.
Qualifications:
Education and Certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
- One (1) year of clerical or customer service experience preferred
- Experience with student device onboarding and withdrawal processes
- Experience working in a team-oriented collaborative environment
Required Special Knowledge and Skills
- Strong organizational skills to effectively manage the inventory and distribution of Chromebooks
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate record-keeping and tracing of Chromebooks
- Ability to interact with students throughout the day in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to established procedures for Chromebook management
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining a positive attitude
- Proficiency in using HEAT and Absolute software for running reports and tracking Chromebook information
- Ability to use personal computer and software to develop and maintain spreadsheets and databases and perform word processing using Microsoft and Google software platforms
- Proficiency in keyboarding and data file maintenance
- Working knowledge of SaaS including Microsoft Office 365 and Google Suite
Preferred Special Knowledge and Skills
- Familiarity with educational technology and Chromebook management in an academic setting
- Knowledge of troubleshooting common Chromebook issues and providing basic technical support
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Facilitates Chromebook management processes for students enrolling and withdrawing from the District.
- Collaborates with campus staff to coordinate Chromebook distribution to incoming freshman.
- Partners with campus registrar to collect Chromebook from students withdrawing from the campus adhering to established procedures.
- Check out loaner Chromebooks to students who temporarily require a device due to repair.
- Ensures all Chromebooks are cleaned and inspected for damage upon return and before re-deploying.
- Maintains accurate loaner Chromebook records tracking usage and return. Works with Zone Supervisor to ensure 10% loaner level is maintained on campus.
- Assists students with submitting Heat tickets for Chromebook repairs and/or missing or lost Chromebooks or chargers.
- Utilizes HEAT and Absolute software to generate reports related to Chromebook inventory distribution and status.
- Analyzes and interprets data from the reports to identify trends issues or areas requiring attention.
- Utilizes Absolute software to lock down missing Chromebooks ensuring their safe recovery.
- Provides front line troubleshooting and completes minor fixes on student Chromebooks such as wi-fi connectivity and OS updates.
- Ensures the accuracy of all student repair billing by collaborating closely with the campus tech and bookkeeper.
- Collaborates with the campus librarian and campus tech to provide oversight for the student tech support team.
- Participates in department training and zone meetings to expand knowledge and stay up-to-date with upcoming technology changes.
- Assists on any team or departmental projects as needed.
- Follows all rules regulations and policies of Denton ISD and follows directives from superiors.
Other Related Duties:
- Follows district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Participates in professional development department meetings and special events as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Tools and Equipment Used: Hand tools and test instruments for electronic repairs and cable installations; standard office equipment including personal computers and peripherals
Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing; regular kneeling/squatting bending/stooping pushing/pulling and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motion; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; regular walking grasping/squeezing wrist flexion/extension reaching
Lifting: Moderate lifting and carrying (up to 44 pounds)
Environment: Occasional prolonged and irregular hours; occasional districtwide and statewide travel
Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions
