CDL-A Reefer Driver

East Shelby County drivers: reefer freight $1300 to $1500 a week paid training for new CDL holders.

Reefer freight runs every day so the miles stay steady. You train with a paid mentor first then run solo.

What you earn

• Paid every week during training

Your week

Reefer lanes through the South and Midwest. Drop and hook live loads live unloads and preloads. Home every two weeks or on 34-hour resets depending on your lane.

What happens after you apply

A recruiter calls the same business day and goes over your license and record with you. Orientation takes 2 days at most; the hotel is covered your bus ticket is reimbursed and you get $300 for attending once hired. Then you ride 4 to 6 weeks with a mentor who coaches you on backing logs fueling and trip planning and you are paid every week while you learn. When you are ready you get your own assigned truck about 1.5 years old on average. For your first 3 months solo your pay will not drop below $1000 a week.

To qualify

You must be 21 or older with a Class A CDL. New drivers need at least 120 hours from a CDL school; otherwise 6 months of recent experience. We accept up to 2 moving violations in the last 2 years and no DUI/DWI in the last 10. You will also pass a DOT physical and a hair and urine drug test.

Once you pass 30 days
