Job Summary
Union and Middlesex County drivers: intermodal work four days a week home every day.
No experience That is fine here. Recent CDL school graduates are hired for this route and trained on the job.
On the road
Local container moves out of Avenel. Drop and hook plus live loads.
Holidays are your call.
Money and miles
- Training pay: $650 a week
- $1200 to $1800 average per week
- $55 per load plus $0.61 per mile
- 3 to 4 hookups per day

- Thursday to Sunday or Friday to Monday

The things new drivers ask most
- My school was short. Does it count If you have at least 120 hours from a CDL school you qualify.
- My backing is rough. That is normal. You practice for weeks with a mentor beside you before you run solo.
- I have a ticket on my record. Up to 2 moving violations in the last 2 years is fine. The recruiter checks yours with you on the first call.
- How often will I see home You are home every day.
New CDL Here is exactly what happens
- You apply we call you. A recruiter goes over your license and record with you before anything else so there are no surprises.
- Orientation up to 2 days. Hotel is provided and your one-way bus ticket is reimbursed. You get $300 for orientation once you are hired.
- 4 to 6 weeks with a mentor. You drive your mentor rides with you and coaches you on backing trip planning logs and fueling. Training pay is $650 per week.
- You go solo. You get your own assigned truck from a fleet that averages 1.5 years old with 10-speeds and automatics.
You will need
You must be 21 or older with a Class A CDL. New drivers need at least 120 hours from a CDL school; otherwise 6 months of recent experience. We accept up to 2 moving violations in the last 2 years and no DUI/DWI in the last 10. You will also pass a DOT physical and a hair and urine drug test.
