What Youll Do

  • Guide customers through the Social Security Disability Benefits application process from start to finish
  • Conduct face-to-face and phone interviews to gather information needed for case screenings and applications
  • Serve as the go-between for customers the Social Security Administration Disability Determination Services and the Maryland Department of Social Services
  • Review documentation and medical records to assess eligibility and build complete case files
  • Coordinate collection of medical records from healthcare providers and ensure all supporting documentation is accurate and complete
  • Explain the disability benefits process required documents and next steps to customers in a clear supportive way
  • Enter and maintain case information in a proprietary database data entry document scanning and record management
  • Conduct ongoing follow-up with customers medical providers and agencies to keep cases moving forward

What We Need From You

  • Background in case management social services disability advocacy benefits coordination healthcare administration or human services
  • Strong interviewing and communication skills youre comfortable talking to people in difficult situations
  • Ability to review documentation and assess eligibility requirements
  • Experience coordinating across multiple stakeholders government agencies healthcare providers and customers
  • Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage a high volume of cases at once
  • Accurate data entry and electronic document management experience
  • Comfortable handling sensitive and confidential information with professionalism
  • Self-directed and detail-oriented you follow up without being reminded

Bonus

  • Knowledge of Social Security Disability SSI or public assistance programs
  • Prior experience working with disability determination or benefits administration processes
  • Familiarity with Maryland Department of Social Services or similar state agencies
