DEPARTMENT: Instructional (position assignment varies)

UNIT: No Benefits (NB)

WAGE: $62.25 per hour

DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Chief Area Instructional Leader (CAIL)

JOB SUMMARY

The Building Administrator (Temporary) acts as a resource for building administration and as a support to principals teachers and other stakeholders as requested by the Chief Area Instructional Leader. The Building Administrator (Temporary) reports to the Chief Area Instructional Leader.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and Experience:

For Principals:

  • Masters Degree in Secondary Administration Supervision or Education.
  • Minimum two (2) years teaching experience in a K-12 school district.
  • A valid Michigan school administrators certificate or within six (6) months of hire date or placement in the administrator position the individual must enroll in an approved school administrator preparation program. The individual shall apply for and obtain from Michigan Department of Education (MDE) a school administrator certificate within the three years as required by law.

Preferred:

  • Experience as an administrator in a K-12 school district.

For Assistant Principals:

  • A bachelors degree.
  • Minimum one (1) year teaching experience in a K-12 school district.
  • A valid Michigan school administrators certificate or within six (6) months of hire date or placement in the administrator position the individual must enroll in an approved school administrator preparation program. The individual shall apply for and obtain from MDE a school administrator certificate within the three years as required by law.


Preferred:

  • Experience as an administrator in a K-12 school district

  • Work on special projects as requested by the Chief Area Instructional Leader.
  • Provide coaching to teachers and other administrators to support scholar achievement.
  • Work with the school leadership team to identify and implement solutions addressing scholar underachievement.
  • Facilitate conversations between stakeholders as requested.
  • Attend meetings as directed by the Chief Area Instructional Leader.
  • Consistently demonstrate dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
