About thePrograms and Policyteam:
Our Programs and Policy teamfocuseson the key drivers of our shared digital future: the culture the governance and the business of digital tech. Through our grant making and advocacy we aim to shape more intentional societal governance and amplify our shared agency. We collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders including investors tech firms policymakersconsumersand workers to guide techs trajectory andestablishcoalitions and countervails in civil society. Programs and Policy team members join Omidyar Network from a wide range of backgrounds in policy advocacy nonprofits community organizing technology consulting philanthropy education and the arts.
About the Role:
Omidyar Network offers a unique platform for early career professionals to work alongside our colleagues and network partners. Omidyar Network Associates play a critical role in our work andgain valuable experience and exposure across our programmatic areas. They helpidentifyand scope new portfolio investments learn about and support the grantmaking process research emergingissuesand potential areas of programmatic engagement and collaborate with our grantees and network partnersin coalitionspolicyand advocacy. Associates gain meaningful hands-on experience in the philanthropic sphere while working with a collaborative high-trust team. Our Associates join from a range of backgrounds including policy and advocacy venture capital communications consulting nonprofits and more.
Our Associates are embedded in our Programs and Policy teamreporting toaDirector.
HowYoullContribute to our Impact:
- Grants Management
- Facilitate the discovery and due diligence process of prospective grantees
- End-to-end execution monitoring and support of grant lifecycle including collating relevant materials for diligence and reporting and tracking correspondence
- Partner with our Portfolio Insights and Engagement staff to improve existing grantmaking processes and apply learnings
- Program Administration
- Maintain internal project management infrastructure to ensure robust knowledge management for assigned portfolio(s)
- Support team leads with program management including stakeholder management learning discussions and meetings and coordination.
- Relationship Management and Partnerships Support
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for grantees partners and other external stakeholders
- Represent Omidyar Network at public events as needed
- Engage diverse voices and coalitions to identify learnings from Omidyar Networks programmatic work to inform our current partnerships
- Research
- Conduct research on emerging issues and potential areas of programmatic engagement as needed
- Maintain a pulse on issues related to emerging digital technology spot and raise trends
Location:
This is a hybrid role with employees working in the office on Tuesdays and willbe based out of our WashingtonDCorSan 100 miles of their assigned office location. Candidates must have a current U.S. work authorization to be considered.
Compensation:
This isathree-year (3) fixed-termfull-time salaried position that features competitive pay andbenefits including health care (medical/dental/vision) paid time off and a generous employer 401k contribution. The salary range for this role is$93800 - $117300 in SanFrancisco and $84500 - $105600 in Washington manages pay equity seriously and new hiresgenerally startat the midpoint of this range.
What Youll Bring to the Team:
- Passion for Omidyar Networks visionto bend the arc of the digital revolution toward shared power prosperity and possibility.
- 2-3years of relevant full-time work experience. Prior experience in tech policy AItech orgovernance competition laborand future of workadvocacy and campaigns techequity privacy and safety a plus.
- Excellent research analysis problem solving and written communication skills.
- Strong project management skills with an attention to detail and ability to track and execute multiple projects at once.
- A creative curious and an entrepreneurial spiritwith a high degree of comfort with change and ambiguity.
- High degree of comfort working autonomously on projects and tasks as well as collaboratively with colleagues and external partners.
- A teamfirst mindset and an enthusiasm for learning.
