Assistant Individual Speech -Full-time

Assistant Indiviusal Speech - Half-time

Position Criteria:

• Demonstrate aptitude for performing tasks listed
• Must exhibit ethical practices and be a role model to students
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

Performance Criteria:

• Assist head coach with the recruitment auditioning and rostering of student participants into speech team categories
• Obtain plan and prepare performance materials as assigned by head coach; obtain performance rights as necessary
• Conduct rehearsals and work with students in conceptualizing the material developing vocal and physical delivery blocking and other technical and artistic areas of presentation
• Coordinate necessary technical needs which may include set props and costumes
• Support performers at contests
• Document student concerns and behavior; consult with head coach
• Communicate schedule and rehearsal information with parents and guardians
• Assist head coach with the execution of home-sponsored contests
• Enhance coaching development by attending summer workshops fall conventions spring meetings and other enrichment opportunities which may include becoming a certified IHSSA judge
• Promote the program through district and public awareness
• Consult with parents head coach and/or administrators regarding discipline issues as needed
• Keep the head coach and districts administration informed of matters deemed necessary
