Job Summary
PRIMARY PURPOSE |
The primary purpose of the Operational Forecaster is to provide safe timely and accurate 24/5 Met Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) and environmental information to aviation at RNAS CULDROSE and outstations IAW CSO Ch 5. |
SECONDARY PURPOSE |
To act as 1RO and Divisional Senior Rate to all Able Rates. |
To oversee training and development of Junior Forecasters and Observers. |
SUPERIORS |
Forecasters are accountable to SMETO with DSMETO having line authority over all forecasters. |
AUTHORITY |
Forecasters are: |
To lead the watch managing the Watch Supervisor and Observers. |
Authorised to liaise with all Squadrons and Outstations as required to fulfil their duty. |
Authorised to release signals and emails as tasked by the SMETO. |
PRINCIPLE TASKS |
Stand watches as necessary to maintain environmental tactical support to the squadrons of RNAS CULDROSE and the wider air station IAW CSOs Chapter 5. |
