Job Summary
We are now looking to hire a VP Electrolysis Technology in Hydros Corporate Technology Office (CTO).
CTO is responsible for supporting the Hydro organization in successfully developing relevant technology and technological competence targeted at securing Hydros technological leadership and competitive position within operations and products.
In this position you will oversee electrolysis technology development support R&D efforts and contribute directly to Hydros technology strategy. The role will ensure that research outcomes are translated into operational improvements to maintain Hydros technological leadership within electrolysis and materials.

- Work with R&D projects and activities in electrolysis and material technology
- Advise on how to utilize technological developments in operational settings across smelters
- Contribute to updating and shaping Hydros technology strategy within upstream technology
- Coordinate research activities between Business Areas to ensure knowledge transfer and strategic alignment
- Conduct technology watch in electrolysis and materials; communicate insights to ELT and Business Areas
- Represent Hydro externally giving talks and maintaining scientific and industry presence
- Use and expand extensive academic and research networks to strengthen Hydros upstream capabilities.
- 10 years experience from aluminium electrolysis and material technology is required demonstrating strong analytical and strategic capabilities
- A corporate and strategic mindset and excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build and maintain effective networks across Business Areas and external partners.
- Self-driven and structured with the ability to identify opportunities lead complex initiatives and deliver results with a high degree of independence.
- Working proficiency in both English and Norwegian
- Degree or experience at PhD-level in Engineering e.g. Electrolysis Materials Science Metallurgy or related fields
