Contracts Manager

Hindmarsh is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join our Canberra team and lead the commercial outcomes of a significant $100M high-rise residential project that will deliver much-needed affordable housing for the ACT community.

Contracts Managers at Hindmarsh are responsible for leading project commercial outcomes through effective head contract management procurement strategy subcontractor management and commercial risk leadership. As the commercial lead on the project you will work closely with the Project Manager and site leadership team to maximise performance manage risk and drive successful project outcomes from procurement through to completion.

Reporting to the Project Manager your responsibilities will include:

• Leading head contract and subcontract administration across all phases of project delivery
• Developing and implementing procurement strategies and managing major trade packages
• Identifying managing and mitigating commercial and contractual risks
• Managing client and subcontractor claims variations and extension of time processes
• Monitoring project financial performance forecasting cashflow and cost reporting
• Preparing and presenting commercial reports to project and business leadership
• Supporting project delivery teams with commercial strategy and decision-making
• Leading commercial compliance contract reviews and project audits
• Mentoring and developing Contract Administrators and emerging commercial professionals
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients consultants and subcontractors

We are looking for team members who have:

• Significant commercial construction experience ideally within a head contractor environment
• Experience delivering large-scale residential mixed-use or commercial construction projects
• Strong knowledge of contract law principles Security of Payment legislation and commercial risk management
• Proven experience leading commercial outcomes on complex construction projects
• Strong negotiation stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience using CHEOPS Aconex and similar construction software
