Position SummaryAssists the Head Coach in formulating teaching recruiting and coaching aspects for a Division I intercollegiate Swimming & Diving athletic program. Assists in directing competitions practice administrative activities alumni relations activities and team travel for our student Assistant Coach will assist in developing a recruitment plan to support the Universitys Strategic Plan as directed by the head coach. The assistant coach has the responsibility of supporting and encouraging a community outreach attitude in advancing the Strategic Duties & ResponsibilitieAssist and support in the promotion of the educational values of athletics consistent with the educational values of the University as outlined and promulgated in the University and Athletic Department Mission StatementAssist with the design implementation and evaluation of a recruiting and retention program directed at developing a competitive Division I intercollegiate input and suggestions for specific communications strategies that will assure the success of the above i.e. clean and professionally drafted recruiting letters professional recruiting visit presentations well-organized campus visit itineraries the head coach in ensuring the program is following the rules and regulations of the the eligibility status of team members in cooperation with Athletics Compliance Coordinator and the academic officials of the the mental and physical preparation of athletes for contests; assists in the development of conditioning the CARA volunteer hours for the student athletes and academic success center of effective social media best practices and overseeing the teams social media duties as Skills Abilities & Other AttributesBachelors degree preferred. Two to three years coaching experience as a graduate assistant or assistant coach at the intercollegiate level or swimming at the intercollegiate Division 1 level. Potential for developing good organizational skills with a solid sense for developing the infrastructure for an effective recruiting system. Good communication skills a positive motivator. Impeccable integrity with a working knowledge of the NCAA rules and Working ConditionsNights Weekends and Extensive travel required
