Job Description: Fayetteville High School is seeking a creative and collaborative teacher for a Jr. High theatre opening at Ramay Jr. High School. The ideal candidate will foster students introduction to theatre and their exploration of beginning to intermediate theatre experiences in a positive organized and enthusiastic manner. This position involves teaching beginning and intermediate level theatre courses to students grades 7 and 8 as aligned with the Arkansas Department of Education Drama Standards as well as supervision of extracurricular rehearsals performances and activities.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Providing daily instruction in Theatre to students grades 7-8 in semester length classes
Responsible use of instruction budget and resource management as they relate to the needs of the theatre classroom and production needs
Supervision of an advisory class
Providing Coordinating and Overseeing performance opportunities for students such as curriculum showcases productions or festival appearances.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with students parents and colleagues.
Supporting building level needs as required by principals
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Theatre Theatre Education or related field (required)
Valid Arkansas teaching license in Theatre or the ability to obtain one (required)
Experience working or teaching Junior High level students in a Theatre setting
Strong knowledge of Theatre pedagogy development and performance techniques
Excellent communication organization and classroom management skills
Commitment to fostering an inclusive respectful and collaborative learning environment
Work Schedule:
Full-time position aligned with the Fayetteville Public Schools academic calendar and after school responsibilities as they relate to program needs
