Pay: $43.50/hour

Reports To:Coordinator of Federal Programs

Primary Purpose

Project Smartis a summer educational initiative aligned with the Texas Migrant Education Program (MEP) which supports students who have experienced educational disruptions due to migratory agricultural or fishing program focuses on helping eligible students strengthen their academic skills and bridge learning gaps resulting from are seeking certified teacherswhoarecommitted to student achievement and capable of delivering high-quality instruction. Project Smart Tutorswill provide tutoring and enrichment activities toparticipatingstudents over a 34-week period during the summer.

Education/Certification

• Texas Teacher Certificationrequired

• Bachelors Degreerequired

Special Knowledge/Skills

• Must befluent in Spanish

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of teaching experience

• Instructional Support:Deliver individualized tutoring and intensive math instruction with supplementary support in reading and writing to migrant students.

• Lesson Planning & Implementation:Implement engaging lessons that are linguistically accommodated and tailored to students individual needs and academic goals.

• Student Engagement:Provide structured opportunities for studentsto verbalize their problem-solving skills using hands-on activities with manipulatives.

• Assess Student Progress:Continuously assess students understanding provide constructive feedback and adjust instructional strategies as needed.

• Parent Involvement:Promote parent involvementusingevidenced-based strategies that support student learning.

• 
  Data Collection:Collect formative and summative data including parent and student feedback.

Equipment/Specialized Software Used

Computers projection devices control panels in meeting rooms printers productivity software software specific to the job assignment network resources internet resources and other hardware and software necessary to perform the functions of the job effectively and efficiently.

Working Conditions (Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors)

Mental:Public relations and people skills are alwaysrequired work with frequent interruptions andmaintainprofessional composure and confidentiality under stress.

Physical:Occasional prolonged and irregular hours ability to move tables and chairs and load/unload boxes and use of a computer.

Environmental:Open cubicles/workstations.

Evaluation

Annual performance evaluation will be performedin accordance withthe adopted policies of the Education Service Center Region 11. Employment in this position is contingent upon performance need and funding.
