Are you seeking an opportunity to join a Food Services team that makes a direct impact on those we serve Apply to be a Food Service Associate

The Food Services team serves to assist with the successful operation of the Food Services Ministry while supporting the team members guests volunteers and local community through Christ-filled love and respect. The Food Services Associate will clean the dishes after the meals assist with cleanup of the kitchen/dining room and assist with prepping for meals as needed.

Hours of Availability: 6:00am to 2:00pm and 3:30pm - 7:30pm shifts; Days may vary.

Status: Casual - up to 20 hours per week
Full Time 32 -40 hours per week

Compensation: $15.00

Job Specific Qualifications:

Ability to operate an industrial dishwasher; training provided
Able to follow instructions for Volume Cooking
Knowledge base of Kitchen Operation Kitchen Equipment and Food Safety.
Compliance with Food Safety & Service standards
ServSafe certification; preferred or willing to obtain at company expense

Career Summary:
Although the main function of this role is dishwashing we serve in a variety of supportive roles to provide seamless processes for providing meals to our guests and the local community. Includes line plan prepare and cook food items to ensure the highest quality service and experience. Volunteer coordinator serve meals and ensure the kitchen pantry and dining room are clean safe and secure for each meal. Maintains the freezer and assist in planning and organizing special events.

All Rescue Mission of Roanoke team members may be asked to complete other duties as assigned by the leadership/management. Expectation is to complete these assignments as requested.

Physical demands essential to performing the job duties of this position (not an all-inclusive list).

Extensive periods of standing stooping turning twisting pushing and pulling objects up to 50 pounds
Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds and/or push or pull up to 100 pounds with assistance
Temperatures may vary depending on activity/events; indoor/outdoor exposure
Noise levels may vary depending on activity/event and/or location
Consistently - Communicating with others to exchange information; verbally and/or electronically

Compensation: $15.00 per hour

Since 1948 the Rescue Mission has continued a tradition of comprehensive care to those in crisis in our community. The homeless the hungry the chemically addicted the impoverished and the hopeless have all found a warm welcome at the Rescue Mission.

Men women and children have found a safe place and compassionate friends in their darkest moments. The Rescue Mission is open 24 hours/day and 365 days/year and provides food clothing shelter an on-site clinic Recovery Program case management and aftercare services. All people in crisis are served regardless of race gender creed age or ethnicity.

In addition the Rescue Mission operates a Donation and Recycling Center 2^ndHelpings Gallery and Shop Thrift 460 and has an online store presence. All proceeds from sales benefit the programs of the Rescue Mission.
