About the Team

Identity and Access Management team is responsible for creating a secure reliable and seamless Identity Management Platform for all the Postman users. This is the team behind authenticating and authorizing every request that reaches Postman space.

Postmans Identity Interface is the gateway to access a plethora of Postmans services while enabling users to connect with peers to perform work collaboratively. A team of passionate engineers where each day brings new learning.

The Authorization team is part of Identity and Access Management within Postmans Core Platform Engineering group. We power access management across every Postman product and service. As the agentic era reshapes how access works we focus on building strong governance for both humans and AI agents.

What Youll Do

• Implement and maintain features improve performance and quality of Postmans products
• Work on improving and building access control systems.
• Work with the manager for the roadmap and SLAs for the micro-services that you own.
• Perform code reviews and advocate better practices for software engineering by mentoring and encouraging others around you to build a quality product.
• Interact with Product Design and Engineering teams to spec build test and deliver new features.

About You

• You have at least 3 years of experience developing complex distributed software applications at scale.
• You have experience with high-level programming languages e.g. Python Java or Go and are ready to pick up and learn new languages based on need.
• Strong experience with distributed systems and cloud computing
• Has a point of view and is comfortable and prior experience in collaborating and respectfully challenging other stakeholders such as PM EM etc.
• You write testable maintainable code thats easy to understand.
• You use AI in your day-to-day activities such as writing code and documentation but more importantly you validate AI-written code and artifacts.
• You have curiosity about how things work and to learn new things.
• Good written and verbal communication.

At Postman we value in person collaboration. We are in office 5 days a week for all roles based out of our hubs in San Francisco Bay Area Boston Austin New York City Tokyo and London. For roles based in Bangalore employees currently work in the office three days a week and will transition to five days per week by the end of the year. We were thoughtful in our approach which is based on collaboration and grounded in feedback from our workforce leadership team and peers. The benefits of our in office model will be shared knowledge brainstorming sessions communication and building trust in-person that cannot be replicated via zoom.
