Job Summary
Responsible for managing and optimizing AWS cloud costs implementing FinOps practices and collaborating with finance and engineering teams to ensure efficient cloud financial management.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Cost Optimization
Monitor analyze and optimize AWS usage and spending
Implement cost-saving strategies such as Reserved Instances Savings Plans and rightsizing
Financial Operations (FinOps)
Collaborate with finance teams to forecast cloud budgets and track variances
Develop and maintain cost allocation models for business units
Governance & Reporting
Establish policies for tagging resource utilization and budget alerts
Create dashboards and reports to provide visibility into cloud spend
Collaboration
Partner with engineering teams to design cost-efficient architectures
Work with procurement and finance to negotiate cloud contracts and discounts
Automation
Build tools/scripts for automated monitoring and reporting of AWS costs
Integrate FinOps practices into CI/CD pipelines
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong expertise in AWS services (EC2 S3 RDS Lambda etc.)
Hands-on experience with AWS Cost Explorer AWS Budgets and CloudWatch
Familiarity with FinOps principles and cloud financial management frameworks
Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel Power BI Tableau or similar)
Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (Terraform CloudFormation)
Strong communication skills to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Finance or related field; FinOps certification is a plus
Preferred Experience
Prior experience in a FinOps or Cloud Cost Management role
Exposure to multi-cloud environments (Azure GCP)
Experience with automation and scripting (Python Bash)
Understanding of cloud governance and compliance frameworks
