POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Accountant position is responsible for analyzing recording and reporting financial data to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial information for Business Units and area of responsibility. This role is responsible for the preparation of financial and summary reports providing accounting support to facilitate the delivery of professional services and financial solutions. The accountant contributes to the implementation of preventative controls helps identify inefficiencies in processes and recommends improvements. It also proactively analyzes the accounting implications of potential business decisions and collaborates closely with business partners

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to:

  • Review revenue expense and payroll transactions for accuracy and compliance; create accounting recordsand maintain accurate and timely financial data.

  • Perform monthly close activities and prepare financial statements and other management reports.

  • Prepare monthly quarterly and year-end adjustments and accruals.

  • Reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure completeness accuracy and compliance; monitor and analyzefinancial data to identify and resolve discrepancies.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards tax laws and company policies; assist in theimplementation of accounting and internal control policies and procedures.

  • Maintain and improve internal control processes to ensure financial accuracy and risk mitigation.

  • Assist in the preparation of documentation and work directly for internal and external audit inquiries.

  • Provide support to AP AR Payroll and Operation teams to ensure smooth and compliant financialoperations.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Required Experience

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field. Actively working towards his/her Chartered

  • Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in Canada is preferred for positions in Canada.

Experience:

  • 3 years of experience in accounting.

  • Prior manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Proficient in ERP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle) and financial processes.

Skills Required:

  • Proficient in basic financial systems (e.g. SAP Oracle) Excel Microsoft Office and data entry tools

  • Able to perform routine reconciliations and transaction processing

  • Data analysis skills required to identify trends variations and outliers

  • Ability to communicate and influence both written and verbally.
