To strengthen our engineering team we are looking for a Lead Mechatronics & CAD Engineer who combines strong technical expertise with leadership skills and a passion for product development.

Your Role

As a Lead Mechatronics & CAD Engineer you will take ownership of the design development and industrialization of complex electro-mechanical systems for our clients.

You will lead multidisciplinary engineering activities throughout the product lifecycle from design optimization and manufacturing readiness to quality improvement and production support. Depending on the project you may coordinate internal and external engineering teams collaborate with manufacturing partners and guide the transition from design to serial production.

Your responsibilities include:

• Leading the design and development of electro-mechanical products and subsystems.
• Driving Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DfMA) initiatives.
• Creating reviewing and validating CAD designs using SolidWorks.
• Coordinating with engineering consultants suppliers and production partners.
• Supporting industrialization and production ramp-up activities.
• Organizing and monitoring reliability validation and quality testing.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant safety regulatory and quality standards.
• Managing technical risks and proposing innovative solutions.
• Coaching and mentoring junior engineers where appropriate.

You will primarily work from client sites and Verhaert Consulting offices in Belgium with occasional travel to suppliers and manufacturing partners.

Your Profile

We are looking for an experienced engineer who enjoys both technical leadership and hands-on engineering.

Requirements

• Masters degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in product development machine design or industrial equipment engineering.
• Strong experience with CAD design preferably SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of DfMA principles and industrialization processes.
• Experience leading engineering teams and coordinating stakeholders.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.
• Valid drivers license.

Nice to Have

• Experience in FoodTech Consumer Products or Industrial Equipment.
• Knowledge of production processes and supplier management.
• Experience with CE compliance and product certification.
• Familiarity with reliability engineering and quality methodologies.
