Job Summary
Equipment Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance on drill rigs (e.g. Epiroc Sandvik Atlas Copco) and hydraulic/diesel systems.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical hydraulic or electrical faults quickly in field or workshop environments.
Site Support: Assist with rig setup drill pad preparation and down-the-hole (DTH) hammer or bit replacements.
Sample & Data Handling: Collect process and log core samples or cuttings when supporting exploration or geotechnical teams.
Safety Compliance: Follow mine health and safety protocols conduct pre-start checks and maintain safe working practices.
Credentials: Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Drill Technology Mechanical Engineering or a related trade.
Zambian Certifications: Valid Silicosis Medical Certificate (mandatory for most Zambian mining sites) and a valid Drivers License.
Professional Body: Membership with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
Experience: Minimum 23 years of hands-on experience working with heavy drilling or mining equipment.
Required Skills:
Bachelors degree in Business Administration Economics Statistics Finance or a related field. 25 years of relevant work experience in data analysis business analytics or a similar role. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions pivot tables VLOOKUP macros). Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI Tableau or Google Data Studio. Strong understanding of statistical concepts and data interpretation. Excellent analytical problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear actionable insights. Familiarity with SQL for data querying and extraction is a plus. Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools processes and business challenges.
