As a Youth Facility Security Officer - Visitor Access in Columbia SC you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more. As an Access Control Officer at a government location you will help manage entry points verify credentials monitor visitor activity and support a secure welcoming environment. You will use technology to document access-related activity communicate professionally with staff and visitors and respond to security-related concerns. Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What Youll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors staff residents and authorized personnel while carrying out security-related procedures site-specific policies and emergency response activities at a juvenile justice location.
• Control access to the facility by verifying identification confirming authorization issuing visitor credentials and maintaining visitor entry and exit records.
• Monitor access points entrances and restricted areas; report unauthorized access attempts suspicious activity and policy violations according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner notifying appropriate personnel and documenting relevant details.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points common areas and the facility perimeter to help identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must meet DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and MMR vaccination requirements.
• At least 6 months of experience in a security-related role is required.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
