What You Will Be Doing:
The Division of Workers Compensation is recruiting a Workers Compensation Officer 2 to serve as the onsite supervisor for the Fairbanks adjudications office. This position offers a unique combination of adjudication case management and leadership: independently managing complex workers compensation matters supervising staff and helping shape how adjudication support services are delivered in Fairbanks. This is an opportunity to use sound judgment legal and analytical skills and leadership abilities in work that has a direct impact on Alaskans. And as a designee of the Alaska Workers Compensation Board you will independently conduct prehearing conferences resolve procedural and discovery disputes and help move contested workers compensation cases toward resolution.

The Working Environment You Can Expect:
This position is located in the Division of Workers Compensations Fairbanks office; the work is primarily professional office work and combines independent case analysis prehearing conferences writing and research interaction with the public and legal professionals and supervision of employees in Fairbanks and Juneau.

No two days are exactly alike - you may spend part of the day conducting prehearings and resolving disputed procedural issues then shift to reviewing case activity coaching an employee coordinating an upcoming hearing or helping a member of the public understand the workers compensation process.
