Location: Remote opportunity based in California. Candidates must live within reasonable proximity to Los Angeles Sacramento Orange County or Ventura. The hiring process can begin via Zoom with an in-person interview required before hire.

Note: Active California Bar membership and at least 2 years of California workers compensation experience are required. Job Description

• Manage a full caseload of California workers compensation defense matters with varying levels of complexity
• Open new files evaluate claims and develop effective litigation plans and case strategies
• Conduct written discovery depositions investigations and other case development activities
• Prepare for and make appearances before the Workers Compensation Appeals Board
• Communicate directly with clients claims professionals opposing counsel and other parties throughout each matter
• Draft persuasive legal correspondence pleadings reports and settlement documents
• Evaluate exposure and provide practical recommendations designed to move cases toward effective resolution
• Maintain organized files deadlines reporting requirements and litigation calendars
• Collaborate with attorneys and support professionals while independently driving assigned matters forward

Qualifications

• Active California Bar license in good standing
• 2 years of California workers compensation law experience
• Experience managing workers compensation matters and litigation responsibilities
• Strong legal research writing analytical and communication skills
• Ability to independently manage deadlines and a full caseload
• Strong work ethic sound professional judgment and commitment to ethical practice
• Genuine interest in building a long-term career with an established defense practice
• Law firm in-house counsel and solo practice backgrounds will be considered
