WirelessVT Website Content Specialist

Job Description

The Website Content Specialist is responsible for developing publishing and maintaining accessible and engaging website content using Virginia Techs Ensemble Content Management System. The position works with faculty staff students and other stakeholders to communicate information about research projects laboratory facilities and related activities. This role applies technical knowledge of wireless communications and networking to translate high-level input into clear accurate web content while ensuring the website meets applicable accessibility and usability standards.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in engineering or a related field.
Education or professional experience related to wireless communications and networking.
Experience with web design content development or content publishing.
Experience using a content management system such as Virginia Techs Ensemble Content Management System.
Experience using HTML.
Experience applying web accessibility standards or using accessibility testing tools.
Experience developing or managing forms using Microsoft Forms or a similar platform.
Experience researching writing or editing technical content.

Preferred Qualifications

Masters degree in electrical engineering computer engineering or a related field.
Experience using Virginia Techs Ensemble Content Management System.
Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 standards and related federal state and university accessibility requirements.
Experience developing website navigation structures and applying web usability principles.
Experience incorporating images and other graphical elements into accessible web content.
Experience developing web content within a higher education or research environment.
Experience communicating technical research concepts to nontechnical audiences.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with faculty staff students and other stakeholders.
