Wi-Fi Tools and Automation Engineer, Wireless Technologies & Ecosystems

The Wi-Fi Quality Engineering team is seeking a mid level quality engineer to work on systems and processes that will test every software change of the Wi-Fi stack. The Wi-Fi Quality Engineering CI team consists of automation engineers tools developers and UI engineers who contribute by improving the quality of the Wi-Fi user experience. This team creates automation that runs on every class of Apple device builds internal tools that help validate new technologies including AI-driven test intelligence and works on user facing features that ship in our products. You will work with both development and testing teams to improve testability through code design and writing automation that runs on a large scale. Ideal candidates are specialists in automation testing automating UI components unit testing non-UI automation testing and are curious about applying AI/ML approaches to make testing smarter and more efficient. Experience in app development for macOS or iOS is a benefit.

Develop and operate a large-scale test automation lab for multiple Apple productsnWrite automation for new and existing features to validate Wi-FinDebug and trouble-shoot device hardware and software failuresnExecute analyze report and debug issues as part of software testing execution cyclesnWork with industry standard tools to create micro-services tools and pipelines to support our continuous integration effortnExplore and apply AI/ML techniques to improve test coverage failure triage log analysis and root-cause identification across the CI pipelinenBuild and integrate AI-assisted automation tools (e.g. LLM-based test generation intelligent test-stability analysis agentic debugging assistants) to accelerate development and testing workflowsnEvaluate and prototype emerging AI tooling (e.g. MCP-based agents AI assistants) to streamline lab operations and reduce manual triage effortnWork with engineering teams to drive testability efforts to improve the way we test our software and hardware incorporating AI-driven insights where applicable

3 years of experience working in Software QA Automation EngineeringnYou have experience in one or more Scripting/Programming Languages including Swift/SwiftUI Objective C or PythonnYou have experience in automating tests at Unit API UI non-UI levelnYou have experience with Continuous Integration systemsnAbility to investigate debug and triage difficult problems and independently work towards resultsnExcellent written and verbal communication skills are needed to facilitate close interaction with development teams management and other organizations within ApplenYou have experience with AI and problem solvingnBS in computer science or equivalent experience

Familiarity with applying AI/ML techniques (e.g. anomaly detection log/failure classification LLM-based tooling) to test automation triage or analyticsnYou have experience integrating AI-assisted developer tools (e.g. LLM-based assistants agentic workflows MCP-based tooling) into engineering pipelinesnEffectively use AI agents as debugging troubleshooting design and implementation toolsnYou are obsessively passionate and inquisitive and seek to tackle everyday problems in innovative waysnYou thrive in a collaborative environment and can clearly communicate while driving multiple projects across teamsnYou are laser-focused on the smallest details that are meaningful to our customers
