Job Summary
This job opportunity is for an WELDER position description Dwithin the CSMS 1 of the New Jersey National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 32 Excepted Service position.
As an WELDER WGyou will:
- Performs welding duties
- Utilizes basic sheet metal tools and equipment
- Reads and interprets blueprints and sketches
- Determines heat necessary; adjusts equipment accordingly.
- Creating technical orders blueprints and specifications.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Additional Employment Requirements:
-Participation in direct deposit is mandatory
-May be required to successfully complete a probationary period
-Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation
-Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service
You may be required to successfully complete a 1- or 2- year probation/trial period to assess performance conduct agency needs public interest and efficiency. Employment ends unless certified in writing that it advances the agencies interest.

Military Grade:
Min: E-3 and Max: E-7

Title 32 Dual-Status Positions: Compatible Military Assignments
Appointments may require the selected candidate to be assigned to a *military unit* compatible with the full-time Military Technician (Dual Status) position.
*Military Unit* -- The unit by which the individual is employed as a Military Technician (Dual Status) employee; or a unit that the individual is employed as a Military Technician (Dual Status) employee to support. (Guidance established by NJ HRO-J1)
General Experience:
Experience or training which demonstrates knowledge of welding processes and knowledge of technical orders blueprints and specifications.
Specialized Experience:
Experience or training on a variety of electric resistance welding processes and equipment. Experience in using accepted trade methods and a variety of manual welding processes to weld all types of commonly used metals in various shapes sizes and thicknesses. Experience using a wider range of metal welding processes to make more difficult welds meeting close tolerance strength and other requirements. These welds may be in hard to reach places. Experience which allows the welder to devise special jigs and fixtures to hold the parts to be welded. Experience which demonstrates knowledge of several related trade procedures.
