Salado Isolation Mining Contractors LLC (SIMCO) managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as an Entry-Level Central Characterization Program (CCP) Site Project Manager (SPM)and join our team located in Carlsbad New Mexico.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will serve as an Entry-Level SPM as detailed in the WIPP Hazardous Waste Facility Permit (HWFP) for the Central Characterization Program (CCP).

The SPM is responsible for data validation and verification to ensure Transuranic (TRU) waste destined for WIPP meets the requirements of the WIPP Waste Acceptance Criteria (WAC). Additionally the SPM will be proficient at procedure/document generation and reviews identification and disposition of non-conformances scheduling and performance tracking. The SPM will interface with regulatory agencies including but not limited to the Department of Energy (DOE) Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and New Mexico Environment Department (NMED).

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering Chemistry Physics Biology etc. Recent graduates are encourage to apply.
• Experience/Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is mandatory

Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

• Previous WIPP experience.

Exempt grade level(s) 28-31. Salary range: $70972 to $133850 per year -- the specific salary offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors particularly the candidates relevant experience and education.
