What We Are Looking For
Baylor University is searching for a Lab Coordinator experienced in laboratory analysis of water biological tissues and soil/sediment samples using wet chemistry techniques and automated instrumentation. Skilled in instrument calibration quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) data validation laboratory documentation and training personnel.
A Bachelors degree and one year of relevant work experience is required. A Masters degree is preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of one another.
All applicants must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis.
What Will You Do
- Performed chemical analyses of water biological tissue and soil/sediment samples for nutrients and other constituents using wet chemistry and automated laboratory instrumentation.
- Operated calibrated and maintained analytical instruments; developed and verified instrument calibrations to ensure accurate results.
- Evaluated analytical data for quality and accuracy implementing corrective actions when quality control criteria were not met.
- Applied QA/QC procedures to validate data and ensure compliance with laboratory standards.
- Documented analytical procedures quality control results instrument issues and corrective actions.
- Prepared laboratory reagents standards and sample batches; maintained clean and organized laboratory workspaces.
- Processed and managed environmental samples according to established laboratory protocols.
- Trained and supervised student workers in routine laboratory operations and analytical procedures.
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylors mission
- Ability to comply with University policies
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
