Job Summary
In addition to assisting with the routine upkeep and enhancement of the equipment and facilities at the Wastewater Treatment Plant you will also learn through guided training and formal classroom instruction the duties and responsibilities of the Operator. You will learn the applicable local state and federal regulations governing wastewater treatment the testing processes and procedures to ensure compliance and the proper operation of the overall plant. You will have the opportunity to work independently and as part of a team while growing your skills and experience with the Town. Mechanical electrical or plumbing experience is a bonus.
The successful candidate must be a motivated individual with the skills or be willing to learn in wastewater system operations. The Town will provide ongoing training to ensure the new employee is trained and licensed.
Have a valid drivers license/record. The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in all weather conditions. The successful candidate must attend required training sessions and earn necessary licenses during their first year of employment. Must possess a HS Diploma or equivalent and must be willing to submit to a pre-employment physical drug screen and background check. Normal work hours are Monday Friday 6:30 am to 3:00 pm and must be able to work overtime as needed and in a on-call rotation.
