Job Summary
Job Summary:The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a wide variety of material department activities including shipping and receiving raw materials and/or finished goods and maintaining inventory and associated records. People management responsibilities include hiring and training planning and assigning daily work conducting performance appraisals addressing performance issues and resolving Functions of the Job:Supervise and assist in daily material department including:Filling and shipping customer ordersSatisfying internal shipping requirements (technical service vendors etc.)Ensuring accuracy of shipments and supporting documentationReceiving incoming material and routing to appropriate area or personnelFilling work orders from productionPackaging assemblies and receiving into finished goodsEnsuring inventory transactions are accurately loggedArranging transfers to and from external warehousesMeasuring and reporting the effectiveness of the department and maintaining departmental work instructions for all or adjusting work procedures to meet warehouse demands as dictated by production schedules and company policies to workers and enforcing safety measures to improve quality of service increasing efficiency of department and work crew and equipment improve warehouse operations through the use of lean enterprise with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments and serving internal with inventory control levels by conducting physical counts reconciling with data storage physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for effective safety procedures tools and record keeping are managed through site to company GMPs (good manufacturing practices) safety procedures and all other quality PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) when other duties as Responsibilities:Warehouse and Material Department EmployeesMinimum Qualifications:Associates Degree in Business or related to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and Qualifications:Food industry and/or manufacturing industry and Skills:Previous experience in cycle counting and Inventory a plusAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating/maintenance instructions and procedure to make calculations such as discounts freight estimates dimensional weight invoices and of general business and computer to learn new software in Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook).Additional Considerations:Travel Expectations: Travel between main plant and 2 warehouses (within 10-mile radius). Location: This role will be located at the SunOpta offsite warehouse in Alburtis : Days Monday through Environment: Approximately 50% of this role will be performed in an office environment; approximately 50% may be in a production or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.
