Summary
Provides community outreach and education for LVHN Trauma Program in accordance with the Network Missions and Pennsylvania Trauma Society Foundation Standards. Assists victims of violence receive the emotional social medical and psychological assistance needed to recover from their traumatic experience. Ability to intervene and assist violence interrupters & have reasonable access to victims of violence while they are an inpatient at LVHN.
Job Duties
- Assists LVHN and trauma affiliates with prevention education and training for their accreditation/re-accreditation.
- Coordinates marketing efforts with the Marketing Department EMS Interfacility Liaisons and the Development Department.
- Acts as the Liaison between the violence interrupters and other key personnel as identified by LVHN and or Promise Neighborhood of Lehigh Valley .
- Evaluates programs and presentations for efficacy efficiency quality of presentation and appropriateness of the information.
- Provides injury prevention education and training in the communities that are LVHN non-Level I trauma centers and trauma affiliates.
- Develops new injury prevention programs based upon the need of the community and identified injury trends.
- Collaborates with trauma clinical team and Care Coordination team to assure victims of violence are directed to appropriate resources prior to discharge.
- Is an active member of the trauma operations and research team at LVHN to provide updates on the project.
- Works with a variety of professionals from the trauma team to assure the needs of the patient are met.
- Assist with identifying and developing educational materials based on the needs of the community.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree Health Education or related field and
- 2 years Community or Health Care experience. and
- Knowledgeable and passionate about making a positive change in the community
Physical Demands
Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing frequent keyboard use *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling bending squatting and performing CPR.
