Vice President, Transportation Business Development Lead

Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President Business Development Lead to drive business growth for Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). This external facing leader will represent AECOM with TxDOT and be responsible for statewide business development strategy and relationship across TxDOTs Central Office and districts and divisions. The key goal is expanding our presence and winning new and repeat business for all of AECOMs service offerings. This role requires a deep understanding of TxDOT as well as Texas transportation policies procedures and regulations.
This position is expected to begin immediately.
Job Summary/Responsibilities
With a 75-year legacy in Texas AECOM maintains a strong TxDOT presence with offices in major markets across the state including Dallas Fort Worth Houston Austin San Antonio El Paso and other key locations. AECOMs 480 transportation professionals in Texas have supported TxDOT and municipal clients for many decades. Our talented teams combine local knowledge with the resources of a global infrastructure consulting firm enabling us to deliver planning environmental engineering program management and construction-phase services throughout the state. Our intent with this role is to build on this depth of experience to grow and expand our support to TxDOT.
The Business Development lead will need to be a growth minded leader who can work collaboratively with other senior leaders in Transportation and other Business Lines to drive strategic planning business development sales & marketing opportunity identification capture management and relationship building. The candidate should be able to demonstrate knowledge of the engineering and construction industry develop knowledge of the company and help recruit as we expand our presence.
The responsibilities of this position may include but are not limited to:
- Fully accountable for business development activities with collaboration with leaders across the AECOM Texas business.
- Represent AECOM and serve a point of contact with TxDOT Leadership.
- Manage the successful delivery of projects by aligning AECOMs local and global resources and ensuring resources adhere to local transportation regulations safety standards and contractual obligations.
- Serve as a Principal-in-Charge on larger projects to provide executive oversight on the projects overall success client relationship financial performance and high-level risk management.
- Monitor the Departments needs and trends within the transportation industry providing insights and recommendations for strategic initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for expanding the scope of services offered to the Department and collaborate with pursuit teams to develop proposals.
- Coordinate with technical teams to ensure that solutions align with the Departments goals and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for AECOM leadership highlighting project status key account performance metrics and areas for improvement.
- Maintain a high profile with TxDOT and transportation industry. Attend conferences and workshops to strengthen existing TxDOT relationships and establish new TxDOT relationships.
- Has a keen understanding of industry trends and market drivers.
- Provides leadership in recruiting training and retaining top talent for TxDOT opportunities and projects.

Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements
- BA/BS 12 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education including 4 years of leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with and knowledge of TxDOT standards policies regulations and procedures within a government context.
- Experience in business development and strong existing relationships with TxDOT.
- Existing relationships within the transportation community in Texas and active involvement in relevant professional organizations
- Team-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Strong understanding of best practices in capture process for professional services
