WhatYoullDo:

• Serve to support your practice teamsettingthe bar for providing high-level competent veterinary support care and embodying the Chewy Vet Care culture to work collaboratively with your peers and deliver the pet parent WOW experience.

• Responsible for implementing the outlined policies and proceduresutilizingintegrated technology and delivering consistent andappropriate medicalcare within the given skill set.

• Perform andassistwith diagnostics (fecals cytology urinalysis bloodwork)

• Draw blood from common venipuncture sites

• Operate andmaintainin-house lab machines

• Obtain and process pre-surgical diagnostics (ECG bloodwork etc.)

• Lead anesthesia induction and provide advanced surgical monitoring and support

• Operating room prep andassistance

• Prepare surgical equipment and suppliesmaintainingasepsis

• Position patients and take diagnostic radiographs with proper collimation andunderstandradiology safety

• Provide surgicalassistanceunder direct supervision of DVM

• Advanced dentistry - perform dental prophylaxis and take full-mouth dental x-rays

• Place IV catheters administer medications and fluids and provide inpatient care

• Calculate prepare and reconstitute medications; manage controlled substances

• Maintain controlled substance logs andassistwith inventory needs

• Provide advanced patient and critical care (triage oxygen therapy cardiac monitoring)

• Aid in resuscitation efforts

• Obtain thorough patient histories and ensure complete SOAP documentation

• Support veterinarians to ensure safe patient treatment in alignment withChewyVet CaresStandards of Care

• Lead technician appointments and mentor others

• PIMS administrative super-user; aid others

• Understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standards of Care (SOCs)

• Assistpractice manager with communicating on inventory needs.

• Clean workspaces after every patient or patient lab sample interaction.

• Participation in self-development courses and Chewy Vet Carecompliance training.

• Perform related duties and assignments as directed by management.

Whatyoullneed:

• Veterinary technician certification or licensure preferred (or eligibility to obtain).

• Demonstrated ability to complete the veterinary technician skills checklist for Veterinary TechnicianI II andIII

• Minimum of 7 years of practice experience (general practice & surgery); 3yearsleadership or mentorship experience preferred.

• Minimum of 1yearexperience with inventory management.

• Proven ability to lead by example in delivering high-quality compassionate patient care.

• Strong leadership and team collaboration skills with a passion for supporting and developing veterinary professionals.

• Excellentpracticejudgment and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to foster a positive transparent and inclusive team culture.

• Ability to analyze practice-level performance metrics and collaborate with practice leadership to drive improvements.

• Skilledin time management delegation andmaintaininga healthy team workflow.

• Business curiosity or financial acumen with a willingness to learn operational metrics and contribute to practice success.

• Passion for continuous learning innovation and elevating the standards of veterinary care.

• Demonstrated professionalism and ability torepresentthe practice and Chewy Vet Care positively within the local community.

• Position may require some travel.

Physical job requirements:

• Standing or walking up to 80% per shift.

• Frequentlylift upto 50 pounds.

• Frequentlylift upto 70 pounds using an optional team lift.

• Rarely lift greater than 70 pounds using a team lift.

• Stand push pull carry squat and kneel.
